Meet Ruth

I have traveled widely myself, mostly around Australia. During my earliest life I grew up within both the United States and the UK, where I returned to stay for lengthier periods as a young woman.  Living in these 3 countries afforded proximity to Canada, Europe and Niugini into which I also journeyed.

I am eclectic and alternative in my tastes, pretty broadminded, creative and hardworking. I love low tech and high tech, the water and the mountains. I love dancing with the multitudes as well as contemplative solitude.

I am a trained textile designer, a qualified chef, a registered teacher and a mother. I have established catering businesses in the past but this particular business now fuses my love of  food,  art, design, writing and travel with my gift for service.  There is an added element here in that having traveled so long and so far I am grateful to be home! Hobart truly feels home.

I match short stay guests with private homes in Hobart Tasmania.

This means that I assist Hobart locals to rent out their private homes as guest accommodation. Most go on holiday while I take care of both their home and their paying guests. Unlike other holiday and executive rentals I promote real and cherished Hobart homes. These properties are unique in their short term availability and lived in charm. Many are self contained and only available once or twice a year. Others are available as home-stay, an experience which I thoroughly recommend- where hosts and guests share a simple or as sumptuous as you like breakfast!
